Appearance: Jesse is quite short and lightly built. His most distinguishing feature is his platinum blond hair which usually hangs loosely around his face. He tends to be clean shaven and often wears a brown leather tabard of tools over his Jedi robes, which he has customised by shortening the sleeves of the outer tunic to keep it from getting in the way of his mechanical work. At other times he wears a simple set of standard robes.

Personality: Jesse has a calm, pleasant demeanour and is usually ready with smile. He is courteous, compassionate and respectful, and his empathy makes him sensitive to the feelings of those around him. He is intelligent and inquisitive, and is always seeking to understand the galaxy around him which his sensitivity to the Force gives him a strong feeling of connectivity to.

Abilities: As a result of his training and his natural abilities, Jesse's areas of particular aptitude are mental applications of the Force, mechanics and diplomacy. He is strongly receptive through the Force, and is a competent healer with a good grasp of the combat applications of Force powers, both physical and mental. He is less talented in the areas of weapon combat and Force movement powers.

History: Jesse was born to a large family on Talus where, though he wasn't neglected, he was never the centre of attention. This suited him just fine, since being around people caused him to share their emotions through his natural Force sensitivity, an experience that could be confusing and unsettling if the people nearby were feeling something particularly strongly, or if multiple people were experiencing conflicting emotions.

Going to school was an even more traumatic experience for him than it was for most children, and he was always looking for ways to avoid being around his classmates and their constant bombardment of feelings. At a young age, he discovered the little dock in his home town and took to spending time there, finding machines more peaceful company than people. The dockmaster found his skittish behaviour and eagerness to learn an endearing combination and began to teach Jesse the basics of starship mechanics.

Jesse displayed an aptitude for mechanics and, at the age of twelve, he was offered an after school job at the shipyard that he gladly accepted. He was working there when a Jedi whose ship had stopped to refuel commented to him that he had a natural sensitivity to the Force that, untrained as it was, had manifested itself as empathy in the youngster.

For the first time, Jesse realised that the emotions he was experiencing were not his own, and that there may indeed be a way to stop them. Looking for answers and help, he packed a few things and set off to Naboo to speak to the Jedi, where he was met by Master Marq Godalming. Godalming explained Jesse's empathy to him, and put forward the suggestion that, instead of simply learning to control this ability, he could become a Jedi himself. After some consideration, Jesse agreed and became Master Godalming's padawan.

Jesse began training, both with his master and in the classes offered at the Temple, and slowly learned to control his empathy as well as developing other abilities with the Force. He gained a basic introduction to all aspects of the Jedi life, and, of his early lessons, took to his master's discipline of healing most quickly.

Once he had completed basic training, he began to travel on missions. He was assigned a regular position at Cloud City where he could make the most of his mechanical aptitude, as well as learning more about how the galaxy functioned and a Jedi's place in it. He was on Bespin when it, along with Manaan and Yinchorr, was attacked by the Sith and had his first encounter with the dark side when he helped Jedi Tyen Shi expel Sith Master Mak Manto from the city.

He had his first experience in a diplomatic situation when he formed part of the Jedi delegation to Manaan in the wake of the destruction of Ahto City, and realised that the diplomat's path was one he was keen to follow. His experience with healing and the mental aspect of Force powers was tested when Kelly Garnier arrived at the Temple after being brutally experimented on by the Empire, which was the beginning of a fruitful friendship between Jesse and the doctor.

A mission on a mysterious droid ship above Raxus Prime gave Jesse a considerable boost of confidence in his own abilities, and yielded a substance that led to the fruition of a project he began early in his time as a padawan, the plans for a shapeshifting ship that he and Kel Rugar hoped to put into production as a new type of field hospital.

The culmination of this came when Master Godalming deemed him ready to face his Trials, which Jesse himself was not certain he was ready for. He managed to pass his trials and took up the title and responsibilities of a Jedi Knight, but it was only after the Jedi's unsuccessful invasion of Korriban and his subsequent capture by the Sith and escape from captivity that he truly became confident in his own abilities.

With this newfound confidence in his abilities came the desire to pass on what he had learned to others and he took a padawan, a young togruta named Aura Vaalen. The two formed a strong bond as he instructed her and learned from her, guiding her through the basics of Jedi training as well as helping her master her innate affinity for visions.
